The easiest way to reach Old Trafford Cricket Ground by train is via the main stations in the city centre, Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria. Both these stations are served by trains from across the country and are linked to Old Trafford by the Metrolink tram network, which has a stop right at the stadium. The Metrolink also connects the cricket ground with Deansgate station and Altincham station, for other local and regional services.
Old Trafford Cricket Ground is the home of Manchester Cricket Club as well as Lancashire County Cricket Club. It opened way back in 1857 and is the second oldest test match venue in England after Lord's. Over its 150 years, it has been the venue for some major matches and iconic moments in cricket, including World Cup semi-finals and the legendary 'Ball of the Century' bowled by Shane Warne in 1993. It is also occasionally used for major music concerts.
Test match tickets can be hard to come by, but it is relatively straightforward to order tickets for Lancashire County Cricket matches via the website.
One of the newest developments at Old Trafford Cricket Ground is The Point, a 1,000-seater stand that also houses a conference centre. It is open all year round for trade fairs, exhibitions, and other corporate events. The Kukri Store at the ground sells Lancashire County Cricket Club merchandise and is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 18:00, and on Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00.
