Norwich station is the main hub if you’re travelling by train to the Norfolk Broads. There’s a half-hourly service between Norwich and London Liverpool Street, and if you’re coming from the Midlands, north of England or Scotland, there are regular connecting services via Peterborough. Beyond Norwich, you can take the train further into the Broads on the Wherry Lines to Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft and the Bittern Line towards Cromer.

About Norfolk Broads
The Broads was designated a national park in 1989, recognising the importance of this unique area of waterways in Norfolk and Suffolk and making it Britain’s largest protected wetland. It’s not surprising then that one of the main reasons eight-million visitors flock to the national park each year is to take to the water on all manner of crafts from canoes and paddle boards to sail boats and cruisers. There’s also still plenty of opportunity for indulging in your favourite dry-land activities, too, with 300km of footpaths to stroll along and miles of tranquil country lanes to cycle.
The variety of wildlife you could spot on your travels around the Broads is astounding, including otters, water voles, hares, newts and even grey seals out on the dunes and beaches of Horsey and Winterton. Bird watching is also a popular pastime for visitors, with many special protected habitats and nature reserves.
If you’re looking to get your history fix, you can explore the area’s unique flint-built medieval churches or seek out the traditional windmills, including those at Horsey, Berney Arms and How Hill, where you can find out how they’ve helped shape the landscape over the centuries.
