If you're getting the train to the Duxford Flying Legends Air Show, you need to head to Imperial War Museum Duxford. The nearest station is Cambridge, which is well connected to London, Birmingham and Stansted International. Once you arrive at Cambridge station, look out for the free bus service laid on by the show's organisers. It runs from 8:30 to 13:30, departing every 30 minutes. Return journeys start from 15:00.
It's time to pop on your leather jacket and goggles! The Flying Legends Air Show is held each July at IMW Duxford, and is quite simply heaven for fans of old school flying machines. It specialises in rare and vintage piston engine aircraft, showcasing them both on the ground and in the air. Each year around 50 classic aircraft take to the Cambridgeshire skies: you can expect the likes of 1930s Hawker Nimrods, P-51 Mustangs and Supermarine Spitfires, all restored to their former glory by passionate enthusiasts.
