More about the Carnforth Railway Centre
The Carnforth Railway Centre is the famous setting for David Lean’s film ‘The Brief Encounter’. Head to the Brief Encounter Exhibition if you want to learn all about the film, including the famous Rachmaninov score, and enjoy it on the big screen while relaxing in original theatre seats.
Apart from the story of the making of the film, the heritage centre delves into the history and heritage of Carnforth itself, giving a detailed portrait of its workers and families in the 1940s.
