Trains to Waddon in Croydon, south London, bring you right onto Purley Way. A five-minute walk south of the station is Fiveways Corner and Waddon Leisure Centre, while a few minutes' further in the opposite direction you'll find the green oasis of Waddon Ponds, an eight-acre park dating back to 1928, with a lake, former mill ponds and a children's play area. The large Purley Way Centre retail park is about 15 minutes' walk north from the station or seven minutes by bus.
Waddon is a busy commuter station in Travelcard Zone 5 on the Sutton & Mole Valley network. Regular services include London Victoria (via Norbury or Crystal Palace), Sutton, Epsom and Epsom Downs. The usual journey time to London Victoria is 35 to 40 minutes. There are also a few peak time trains to and from London Bridge connecting out to Dorking or Guildford.
