The southernmost terminus of the Borders Railway in Scotland, Tweedbank Railway Station sees regular trains serving the village of Tweedbank, the historic Abbotsford House, the town of Melrose, and the wider Borders region via Park and Ride. Trains to and from Tweedbank depart both sides of the island platform equally, running to Edinburgh with stops in Galashiels, Stow, Gorebridge, Newtongrange, Eskbank, Newcraighall, Brunstane, and Waverley.
Just opened in 2015, Tweedbank Station sees significant tourist traffic due to its close proximity to a number of historic attractions, including Sir Walter Scott’s residence Abbotsford House and the ruins of Melrose Abbey. Although unstaffed, both a car park and cycle storage facilities are provided for customer use. Tickets may be purchased from the self-service ticket machine located on the platform. Departure screens display train running information. Toilet facilities are available adjacent to the depot building. There is step-free access via ramp to the platform.
