Trains to St Helens Junction

St Helens Junction railway station is used by the little community of Sutton just a few miles south of St Helens. It’s one of the oldest stations in the country having been opened in the early 1830s and has long been an important junction. Today, the station and the trains that pass through on the Liverpool to Manchester Line are managed by Northern. The original station ticket office is still open today and the pretty brick building has been given Grade II listed station for its classical British station design. Facilities on the two-platform station including waiting shelters, help points, digital displays and timetable posters. There’s an irregular hourly direct service to Liverpool Lime Street in 31 minutes and Manchester Piccadilly in 35 minutes.

There isn’t much to do right next to the station, but if you arrive in St Helens Junction, you won’t be far from the beautiful Sutton Park, the wooded trails of Sherdley Park or the Miniature Golf Course.
