Trains to Southbourne

Southbourne railway station is used by the small community of Southbourne and the surrounding West Sussex villages. It was opened at the turn of the 20th century and was originally called Southbourne Halt, though it ‘halt’ was later dropped in the late ‘60s. Over the years, passenger numbers have been steadily declining, but it still serves more than 100,000 passengers a year. The station and the trains that pass through on the West Coastway Line are managed by Southern. There is a ticket office open between Mondays and Saturdays, though there are self-service machines to use when its closed. Other facilities at the two-platform station includes waiting shelters and timetable posters. There’s an hourly direct train to Brighton in 59 minutes and four trains an hour to Portsmouth in 8 minutes.
