Shipley station is on the Airedale Line between Leeds and Bradford, serving the market town of Shipley in West Yorkshire. There has been a station at Shipley as far back as the 1840s, but the current station was designed by renowned local architect Charles Trubshaw, and has stood on the site since the 1880s. The busy station see trains depart to Leeds and Ilkley from platforms 1 and 3, towards Skipton and Morecambe from platform 2, and towards Bradford Forster Square from platforms 4 and 5. Shipley town centre is a ten-minute stroll from the station. While not extensive, it has its share of several shopping centres, pubs, bars and cafes, most of them concentrated around Market Street, Market Square and Kirkgate. For a spot more culture, a walk of just under a mile - or a single stop on the train - will bring you to Salts Mill, a restored mill that now houses galleries, cafes and some boutique shops.

Shipley can be a little confusing - it has three sets of platforms arranged in a triangle, with the ticket hall and car park in the middle. Platform 5 is to the south, and can be accessed from the ticket hall or from Station Road; platforms 3 and 4 are to the east, and can be accessed from the ticket hall; and platforms 1 and 2 are to the north, and can be accessed from the car park or from Stead Street.
