Trains to Seaham

Seaham railway station is in the coastal town of the same name in County Durham. The first line through Seaham was a freighter line for carrying coal across the country in the mid-19^th century. Several years later, the station was opened to begin offering passenger services, though a new station was constructed at the turn of the 20^th century which still stands today. Unfortunately, the old brick station buildings were demolished some time ago and replaced with simple waiting shelters. It’s an unstaffed station with no ticket office, but there are self-service machines on both platforms for purchasing them before you board the train. Other facilities include digital passenger displays, timetable posters and automatic PA systems. The station and the trains that pass through are operated by Northern. There is an irregular hourly service to Newcastle in 34 minutes and a direct hourly southbound service to Hartlepool in 15 minutes.

When you arrive in Seaham, you’ll be just a short walk from the beautiful coast. Take a visit to see the yachts at the Seaham Harbour Marina, catch a glimpse of the historic Seaham Lighthouse or take your clubs up to Seaham Golf Course for a round or two.
