With the same Station Master, Trevor Beaven MBE, for over 40 years, Pewsey train station holds a special place in the hearts of locals in the rural village in Wiltshire, twenty miles south of Swindon. The station is incredibly well cared for and won Best Small Station in the West for its friendliness and efficiency, all thanks to the station master. Pewsey sees higher passenger numbers than many other stations of its size, as many of the neighbouring areas are not served by stations of their own. By in 2015, despite Beaven's best efforts, the bridge had become very run down and finally got the $456k upgrade it needed.
The station runs services out to the east to London Paddington and west to Penzance respectively. Trains to the capital leave from platform 2 and take around an hour and a half, and services to Cornwall depart from platform 1 and take approximately four and a half hours.
