Penryn train station serves Penryn and Penryn Campus in Cornwall. It is part of the Maritime Line which runs from Truro to Falmouth. The journey time to Falmouth Docks is 10 minutes and trains to Truro take 14 minutes.
Penryn is an ancient town. It was named Trelivel in the Doomsday Book of 1086 and changed to its current name in 1216. During the 15th century, the town was an important port. Today, it is regarded as an important conservation area and has many listed buildings from Tudor, Jacobean and Georgian times.
Originally opened in 1863 by the Cornwall Railway, the station today has two platforms on the same side of the line. There are three shelters with benches for passengers and step-free access from the car park. Penryn train station has no ticket facilities so journeys need to be paid for in advance or purchased from the conductor on the train.
