Trains to Penmere

Penmere train station is one of three stations serving the town of Falmouth on the south coast of Cornwall. It is located in a largely residential area, a short walk from the town centre and The Moor. Trains from Penmere are operated by Great Western Railway and travel on the Maritime Line, which links the town to Truro and Falmouth Docks. Trains from Penmere train station depart twice an hour on weekdays, with slightly reduced services in the evenings and on weekends. Journeys to Falmouth Dock take just 5 minutes, and direct services to Truro take 22 minutes.  

The single platform station was opened in 1925. It has a small parking area, step-free access and a sheltered waiting area but there are no ticket facilities; journeys from Penmere need to be paid for in advance or purchased on the train. A small community group, the Friends of Penmere Station, have cared for the station since 1993 and their efforts have earned several awards, which are displayed on a board at the station.
