The pretty stone Pembroke Dock station, on the West Wales Line, serves this former fishing village in Pembrokeshire. The station, in a residential area just south of the Milford Haven Waterway, is on the Swansea-to-London line and sees trains heading through the beautiful Welsh countryside to Rosslare's Irish Ferries services.
The town of Pembroke Dock, dominated by its naval history, still has many of the former dockyard buildings, gatehouses and monuments along its coast. The main retail district, with several independent cafes alongside larger retailers such as Boots and Asda, is to the west of the station.
While many go to the station simply for an evening at the Station Inn pub, which is part of the station building, others use the regular services for Carmarthen and Swansea that leave the station's single platform. Trains to Swansea take around two and a quarter hours. A seasonal service runs from the station in summer months to London Paddington.
