Trains to Par

Par train station was opened with the Cornwall Railway in 1859. Today, it is managed by Great Western Railway and serves Par, Tywardreath and St Blazey with train services from Great Western Railway and CrossCountry. Hourly services on the Cornish Main Line connect the station with Plymouth and Penzance, with some services continuing to London. CrossCountry trains from Par train station provide occasional services to Bristol, Birmingham and the north.  

The station itself is staffed, with a ticket window, ticket machine and toilet facilities on platform 1. Platforms 2 and 3 are on an island platform which can be accessed via a footbridge. There are sheltered waiting areas on all platforms.  

Trains from Par station to Plymouth have a fastest journey time of 49 minutes, and Penzance takes 1 hour and 1 minute. The fastest direct services to London Paddington take just under 4 hours. Trains between Newquay and Par are part of a community railway service on the Atlantic Coast Line, which also promotes local pubs along the line as part of a rail ale trail.
