Trains to Moses Gate

Serving the Moses Gate suburb of Farnworth, Moses Gate Railway Station sees frequent Northern trains operating local services only throughout Bolton and Greater Manchester on the Manchester-Preston Line. During the week and on Saturday daytimes, trains from Moses Gate depart hourly with northbound services to Wigan Wallgate from platform 2 and southbound to Manchester Victoria from platform 1. As the line largely serves commuters, no trains continue to Manchester in the evenings. On Sundays, no services run. 

Once a vital stop for local trains, today Moses Gate is largely quiet and has only basic facilities for customer use. As there are no ticketing provisions present at Moses Gate Station, tickets must be purchased ahead of time or on board from a guard. A waiting shelter with bench seating is installed on each of the platforms, and there is a payphone on platform 1. There is step-free access via ramp to each platform from the road.
