Trains to Moorthorpe

Located in the City of Wakefield district of West Yorkshire, Moorthorpe Railway Station serves Moorthorpe and South Kirkby with regular Northern trains services operating on the Wakefield Line and the Dearne Valley Line. During the week, trains from Moorthorpe depart on an hourly basis to Leeds via Wakefield Westgate from platform 2, and to Sheffield from platform 1. On Sundays, trains operate two-hourly in both directions. Two services operate daily to York and Sheffield.  

Moorthorpe Station has both bicycle storage facilities and an unpaid step-free accessible station car park available for customer use. Self-service ticket machines are installed at the station, so passengers can purchase or collect pre-purchased tickets ahead of travel. Waiting shelters with bench seating are installed on both platforms. Assistance is available from the customer helpline during opening hours (until just before 13:00). There is step-free access to both platforms, as well as step-free interchange via barrow crossing.
