Trains to Heighington

Heighington Railway Station serves Aycliffe Business Park in Newton Aycliffe with regular Northern trains operating on the Tees Valley Line. The station has a basic hourly service; trains from Heighington depart once an hour in each direction between Bishop Auckland to Darlington, Middlesbrough, and Saltburn. This portion of the Tees Valley Line is a community railway known as Bishop Line, lying between Bishop Auckland and Darlington. On Sundays, service is two-hourly.  

Managed largely by Northern, Heighington Station is unmanned. There are no ticketing provisions of any kind at Heighington; passengers wishing to travel from Heighington should purchase their tickets prior to travel or on board the train from a guard. Both platforms have fully lit waiting shelters with bench seating. Train running information is provided via digital departure and arrival screens, timetable poster boards, telephone dial-in, and automated announcements on the station PA system. There is step-free access to both platforms via a ramp.
