Trains to Hampton

Hampton station is in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, within Travelcard Zone 6. Situated on the Shepperton branch Line, the station runs two trains per hour in either direction between London Waterloo and Shepperton - early morning rush-hour trains are routed via Twickenham and Richmond, rather than Kingston. It originally opened in 1864, but didn't become a passenger station until 1901 - and even then only for selected peak hour services. Electrification followed in 1916, and despite its small size, the station has been home to busy commuter services ever since. The station serves a affluent, leafy suburban neighbourhood just to the west of Hampton Wick, with the green expanse of Bushy Park between the two. The area boasts long strips of public riverside, as well as the Hampton Heated Open Air Pool, one of the last remaining swimming pools of its type in Greater London.
