Trains to Greenock Central

One of eight stations serving the town of Greenock, Greenock Central Railway Station sees frequent Abellio ScotRail service on the Inverclyde Line. Trains from Greenock Central’s two active platforms depart frequently, with westbound trains running to Gourock and eastbound trains to Glasgow Central via Paisley Gilmour Street. Westbound trains serve all stations; eastbound trains alternate between express services to Port Glasgow, Bishopton, and Gilmour Street only and all-stop stations. In the evening, services run half-hourly instead of quarter-hourly, and on Sundays, trains run hourly on an all-stations route only.  

The station buildings at Greenock Central are historic, although the original booking office was demolished in the early 1990s. Modern station facilities at Greenock Central include the booked ticket hall, payphones, accessible toilet facilities, and a station car park on the site of the former station buildings. Both platforms have step-free access and are outfitted with waiting shelters, bench seating, and customer help points.
