Trains to Green Lane

Green Lane Railway Station serves the town of Birkenhead with regular Merseyrail services along the Wirral Line’s Chester and Ellesmere Port branches. Trains operate quarter-hourly, with a train from Green Lane departing every fifteen minutes between Chester and Liverpool during off-peak hours in the week, Monday to Saturday. On Sundays and in the late evening, service is half-hourly. An additional train runs every half-hour between Liverpool and Ellesmere Port.

As with all Merseyrail stations, Green Lane Station is staffed throughout all operating hours and has platform CCTV installed for customer comfort and security. Station amenities include a payphone, booking office, and train running updates via live departure and arrival display screens. The station has a free car park for traveller use, as well as a secure cycle locker. Access to both platforms is via stairs, and so Green Lane station is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with prams.
