Dunston Railway Station serves the area of Dunston in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, with regular service on the Tyne Valley Line operated by Northern, who also manage the station. Trains from Dunston depart on an hourly basis in each direction, Sundays included, to both Newcastle and MetroCentre. Newcastle-bound trains depart from the platform 1 side, while MetroCentre trains depart from platform 2. On both weekdays and Saturdays, a limited number of trains bound for Hexham call at Dunston.
