Dalmeny railway station serves the small town of Dalmeny and surrounding villages just west of the Scottish capital along the Firth of Forth. The town’s original station opened in the mid-19th century, though it was closed three decades later and replaced with Dalmeny. Fast forward to today, and the station is served by the Fife Circle Line and managed by Abellio ScotRail. The station sits above street level and both platforms are accessed by steps as well as a footbridge over the tracks. The old station building still exists with its overhanging roof that provides cover. During weekday peak times, there are three services an hour to Edinburgh Waverley in 22 minutes and two to Dunfermline Town in 15 minutes.
There are plenty of things to do when you arrive in Dalmeny. If you visit the Queensferry Museum, you can learn about the history of Dalmeny and its seafaring past. Alternatively, hop aboard one of the boat tours to explore the beautiful Firth of Forth.
