Trains to Daisy Hill

Daisy Hill railway station lies around 5 miles south-west of Bolton city centre and makes up part of the city’s metropolitan area. It’s an important stop along the Atherton Line from Manchester to Wigan. In recent years, new housing developments in Daisy Hill have helped the station grow in importance and it now stands as a busy commuter stop. It opened in the late-19^th century on the junction of the Blackrod Line. In the mid ‘70s, the station was modernised with electric lighting, though the brick station buildings remain untouched. Unlike many British stations, it is still staffed during peak hours. Facilities include passenger information displays with real time information, a passenger announcement system, a ticket office, and two platforms. During the weekday peak times, there are two direct services an hour to Manchester Piccadilly in 31 minutes and Wigan Wallgate in 10 minutes.
