Trains to Culham

Culham railway station lies just a few miles due south of Oxford along the Cherwell Valley Line in the heart of Oxfordshire. It has long served the little community of Culham and the surrounding villages. It was opened in the mid-19^th century, originally as Abingdon Road, by the Great Western Railway, but this was changed two decades later on completion of nearby Abingdon Junction. The old brick station buildings designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel are Grade II listed, though they were sold off to private investors quite some time ago. Facilities are a little sparse, though you will find a glass shelters on one of the two platforms, a footbridge crossing the tracks, and timetable information. There are direct departures regularly throughout the day to Oxford in 12 minutes and Didcot Parkway in 7 minutes. No trains call at Culham station on Sundays.

Culham railway station is not far from the northern edge of the North Wessex Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with rolling hills, woodland, and some spectacular walking paths.
