Croy railway station lies just a few miles north-east of Glasgow and serves the little community of Croy as well as the surrounding villages and towns. Its two platforms sit along the Glasgow to Edinburgh Line and is operated along with the trains by Abellio ScotRail. Though it’s over a century old, none of the original brick buildings have survived and are instead replaced with a modern glass structure. Facilities include shelters on both sides of the tracks, electronic displays, timetable posters, and a large 900-space adjoining car park where convenient bus services offer connections to Kilsyth and Cumbernauld. There are two trains an hour through peak weekdays direct to Edinburgh Waverley in 38 minutes and four departures an hour to Glasgow Queen Street in 14 minutes.
Remember your five iron because when you step off at Croy you’ll be just moments away from the Dullatur Golf Club whose challenging fairways satisfy even the most experienced of golfers. If that’s not your thing, they’ve also got a bowls club too.
