Church Stretton train station first opened in 1852, however, in 1914 the station was moved and is now located south of the Sandford Avenue road bridge. Church Stretton station has two platforms, platform one is used for northbound trains, and platform two is for southbound trains. A footbridge connects the two platforms, and passenger shelters are in use. The station has been unmanned since 1967. However, there is a ticket machine available on platform 1. The station is well cared for by a group of volunteers, and the main footbridge was renovated in 2013.
