Bromborough Rake train station is one of two stations located in the Bromborough area of Wirral. It was opened in 1985 when electrification of the line allowed direct trains to Liverpool to pass through the Mersey Railway Tunnel. Today, trains from Bromborough Rake depart every 15 minutes for Chester and Liverpool on weekdays, and every half an hour on Sundays. Direct services to Liverpool Central take 24 minutes and the fastest journey time to Chester is 20 minutes.
Bromborough itself is known as the location of the oldest mill site in the Wirral. A mill was recorded there in the Doomsday Survey of 1086 and a working mill remained until 1940. It was finally demolished in 1949.
There are two platforms at Bromborough Rake train station, both accessible by ramps and joined by a bridge over the line. A ticket office is available for passengers during open hours and there are seats and shelters on both platforms.
