Trains to Bridge of Orchy

Bridge of Orchy train station opened in 1894 in the Scottish village, Bridge of Orchy. It is part of the West Highland Line, voted one of the top rail journeys in the world by readers of Wanderlust magazine. Direct trains from Bridge of Orchy station link the town with Glasgow Queen Street, London Euston, Fort William and Mallaig.  

The island platform is accessed by a subway and steps. There are small sheltered areas on either side of the old station building, now used as a bunkhouse for walkers on the Tyndrum to Glencoe section of the West Highland Way. Slightly more luxurious accommodation can be found at the nearby Bridge of Orchy Hotel.  

The fastest train journey from Bridge of Orchy train station to Glasgow takes 2 hours 23 minutes. Fort William can be reached in a time of 1 hour and 20 minutes and the fastest journey time to Mallaig is 2 hours and 45 minutes. Four services in each direction depart daily on weekdays. On Sundays, one service runs north and two run south all year round; an extra summer service in each direction runs from May to October.
