Branksome train station is located in Poole and is part of the South Western Main Line, serving the areas of Branksome and Branksome Park with connections to London and Weymouth. Branksome itself is a largely residential area, though the area around the station is home to several shops and the Poole Retail Park lies nearby. The station at Branksome was originally opened in 1893 on the site of a junction. Today, it is served on weekdays and Saturdays by one train an hour to Weymouth, and two hourly services to Poole and London.
