Counted among the country’s most remote, least-travelled stations, Berney Arms Railway Station serves the settlement of Berney Arms via the rural Wherry Lines. Nestled on the Halvergate Marshes in Norfolk, Berney Arms station is close to 16 miles east of Norwich and is located on a loop spanning Reedham and Great Yarmouth. The station is currently under management by Greater Anglia, who also operate all trains to and from Berney Arms. Two trains operate daily in each direction, westbound to Norwich and eastbound to Great Yarmouth; in the summer, the number of daily trains increases to three.
As one of Britain’s most isolated stations, Berney Arms is located several miles from any roads. The station has cycle storage available, and customer help is available by phone. Facilities are otherwise minimal, and while the station is technically step-free, customers should note that the station is accessed primarily by boat from the River Yare or walking some distance.
