Trains to Barrow-Upon-Soar

Located on the Midland Main Line, Barrow-upon-Soar Railway Station serves its eponymous Leicestershire village with regular service between Leicester and Loughborough. Originally a small halt known only as Barrow, the station retained its unique Midland Counties Railway architecture until its closure in 1968 and subsequent rebuilding in 1994, slightly southeast of the original site. Today, the station has two platforms and moderate facilities, including self-service ticket machines, smartcard validators, payphones, and waiting shelters. Tickets can also be purchased on board from a ticket agent. 

Monday through Saturday, East Midlands Trains operate local services from Leicester to Nottingham and Lincoln via Loughborough and Newark. One service—the 15:51 northbound train—continues from Lincoln to Sleaford. No Sunday services operate at Barrow-upon-Soar station. High-speed services from Leeds and Sheffield to London pass through at speed, but do not call at the station. Passengers requiring high-speed services to London and the North should alight at Leicester or Loughborough for interchange.
