A compound rail station serving a multitude of villages in Cambridgeshire, Ashwell and Morden Railway Station is located on the Great Northern Route between Royston and Baldock. The station sees regular northbound service from London King's Cross and southbound service from Cambridge. The villages of Ashwell, Guilden Morden, Steeple Morden, and Odsey are all served by Ashwell and Morden and are within a few miles of the station, and may be accessed via minor roads.

The station has two platforms with shelters and seating on each, as well as a ticket office and self-service ticket machines located off platform 2. Passengers requiring step free access should avoid Ashwell and Morden, as stairs are used to access both platforms and the booking office. Off-peak, hourly trains to Ashwell and Morden call in both directions on stopping services between Cambridge and London King's Cross. In peak times, these trains run half-hourly and some extend to Ely or King's Lynn and Royston.
