Ardrossan South Beach Railway Station is the first of three rail stations serving the harbour town of Ardrossan in North Ayrshire. Part of ScotRail's Ayrshire Coast Line, the station was first opened in 1883 as an extension of the extant Ardrossan Railway to Largs. Today Ardrossan South Beach station sees half-hourly services eastbound to Glasgow and hourly westbound services to Ardrossan Town, Ardrossan Harbour, and Largs. On Sundays, hourly services depart for Glasgow Central and Largs with extra services to Ardrossan Harbour.
While originally a two-station platform, the eastbound platform was demolished in 1987. All passenger trains now call at the westbound platform, while freight services continue to use the eastbound tracks. The station maintains a manned ticket office, with opening times 06:35-18:15 Mondays through Saturday and 09:45-19:10 on Sundays. Tickets may be purchased from the ticket office or self-serve machines located on the platforms. Waiting rooms are present on the station platform, and step-free access is available throughout the station.
