Trains to Appleford

Appleford Railway Station serves the village of Appleford-on-Thames via the Cherwell Valley Line. A scenic route that winds its way through Oxfordshire alongside the River Cherwell, the Cherwell Valley Line links the Great Western Main Line in the south to the Chiltern Main Line in the Midlands. Located between Didcot Parkway and Culham on the line, Appleford station sees a total of 16 services operate each direction a day, with a two-hourly interval between trains (and more during peak times). Many services start or continue as semi-fast trains between Reading and Paddington. Trains do not call at Appleford on Sunday.

Recently, the station's shelters on both platforms were updated. The station is not staffed, and passengers are advised to purchase their tickets on board. Rail replacement buses pick up and set down in the village at the bus stops on the B4016, a short walk from the station. This station is not suitable for wheelchair users.
