The current Apperley Bridge train station has served the Apperley Bridge region of Bradford since it opened in 2015. It connects the village to Bradford Forster Square in 14 minutes, and Leeds in 12 minutes.
The original Apperley Bridge station was situated in the nearby Rawdon. It opened in 1846 as part of the Leeds and Bradford Railway and transported both passengers and parcels until its closure in 1965.
Leeds and Liverpool Canal runs through the Apperley Bridge, and the village is also home to the bridge which shares its name and a canal marina. Today, the canal is used mainly by pleasure craft, but many of the historical buildings which lined the canal, including two mills, have been preserved and now have listed building status.
Apperley train station has two platforms, both with ramp access, and free car and bicycle parking spots. Weekday services from Apperley Bridge depart every 30 minutes in each direction and Sunday trains run hourly. Transport connections can be made at a bus terminus near the station and the A658 Harrogate road, which runs through the town.
