Airbles Train Station is one of three railway stations serving the town of Motherwell in North Lanarkshire. It connects Airbles with Glasgow Central, with a fastest journey time of 30 minutes
The railway station at Airbles was built by British Rail in 1989. Plans to close it were abandoned when local residents protested, declaring it an essential transport connection for the area.
The surrounding area is largely residential, but Airbles is the closest station to Motherwell F.C.’s Fir Park; it is located less than a mile from the stadium. The station also serves Motherwell Concert Hall and Theatre which regularly hosts concerts and theatre productions as well as conferences and local entertainment.
Airbles train station has two platforms, both accessed by ramps and each with a small shelter for passengers. Two trains an hour link Airbles to Glasgow, and another 2 per hour cover the 3-minute journey to the larger Motherwell station, for connections to Birmingham and London.
