Trains to Adwick

Adwick train station serves both Adwick-le-Street and Carcroft, connecting them with the nearby town of Doncaster with a journey time of around 10 minutes. Trains from Adwick to Leeds and Sheffield take from 38 minutes and 49 minutes respectively, making them popular commuter destinations.

The first Adwick train station, named ‘Adwick-le-Street and Carcroft’, was opened in 1866 and closed in 1967. The original station building still exists today, though it is not part of the existing station. It can be seen on the opposite side of the road bridge which runs over the track.  

The current platforms were opened in 1993, a little south-east of the original site. They each have a sheltered waiting area for passengers and a Travel Information and Waiting Hall, provided and staffed by South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE), is located on Platform 1.

The platforms at Adwick station are connected by two footbridges, one with ramp access, and there is a platform lift to one of the station car parks. Free parking makes this station an ideal park and ride for Doncaster, and it is also within easy reach of the A638, which links to the A1.
