Trains to Adlington (Lancs)

Adlington Railway Station sits snugly in the heart of Adlington town in Lancashire. A two-platform station between Chorley and Blackrod on the Manchester-Preston line, Adlington station was first constructed in the 1840s to support a railway link with the Manchester line. The station continues to serve passengers to Manchester Victoria, Preston, and Blackpool, with trains from Adlington departing once an hour in each direction, every day of the week. During peak periods, additional trains to Adlington may call, with some southbound trains continuing on past Manchester Piccadilly.

Adlington shops, including a cafe in the ticket office of the former White Bear railway station, are a short walk from the station. Station facilities include a staffed ticket office open from 05:55-19:10, Monday through Friday, as well as a waiting room and shelters on each platform. Step-free access is available to both platforms. Buses for Bolton and Preston stop 50 yards from the steps on Railway Road (B6227).
