At this point, is there any mission that Ethan Hunt won’t accept?

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 2 is unfortunately delayed to 2025, but that isn’t stopping Tom Cruise from pulling insane stunts around the world. As the cameras roll, here’s where you can find the Mission: Impossible 8 filming locations in Europe and Africa.

Where is Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2 being filmed?

On the (Ethan) hunt for Mission: Impossible 8 filming locations? So are we. Here’s where production for Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 2 has been spotted in the UK, Europe, and abroad.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England: It wouldn’t be a Mission: Impossible film if Ethan Hunt wasn’t using a famous European city landmark as his playground. For Mission: Impossible 8, we’ll see him running through London’s Trafalgar Square and appearing in South Kensington. He’s also been spotted driving through Derbyshire and sheep reportedly caused filming delays in the Lake District.

🇮🇹 Italy: Italy might feature in Mission: Impossible 8. It’s confirmed that Tom Cruise flew from the city of Bari to an aircraft carrier on the Adriatic Sea to film.

🇳🇴 Norway: It’s also confirmed that production is in Svalbard, Norway, which we assume will be where the sunken Russian sub is located.

🇿🇦 South Africa: Tom Cruise recorded a video — mid-air on the wing of a plane — mentioning Mission: Impossible 8 filming in South Africa.

What is the release date for Mission: Impossible 8?

Mission: Impossible 8, which speculatively titled as Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 2, is now pushed back to a release date of May 23, 2025. This is a Memorial Day weekend release, and with only an untitled Disney film potentially being released the same day, it looks like Mission: Impossible 8 will be the box office leader.

Why is Mission: Impossible 8 delayed?

This isn’t the first time Mission: Impossible 8 was delayed. It was originally scheduled to release in August of 2022, but the pandemic disrupted that and Mission: Impossible 7. Production had to pause so that the cast could do press for Mission: Impossible 7. The SAG-AFTRA strike also pushed back production. Three delays later, we’re hoping that getting this film out in 2025 isn’t an impossible mission.

Who is the director of Mission: Impossible 8?

Christopher McQuarrie is the director of Mission: Impossible 8. He’s directed Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One. Along with writing those movies, he’s also written screenplays for Top Gun: Maverick, The Mummy, Edge of Tomorrow, Jack Reacher, and Valkyrie. Let’s just say McQuarrie knows how to pen a good Tom Cruise script.

What will Mission: Impossible 8 be about?

Mission: Impossible 8 will pick up directly after the events of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1. In Mission: Impossible 7, Ethan successfully snags the Entity’s two keys, Gabriel gets away after killing Ilsa Faust, and Paris tells Ethan that the Entity is located in a sunken Russian submarine called Sevastopol. It seems like Mission: Impossible 8 will be about Ethan finding Sevastopol and destroying the Entity.

Who will be in the cast of Mission Impossible 8?

Obviously, Tom Cruise will lead the charge (and almost assuredly do his own insane stunts) in the eighth installment in the MI franchise. The cast of Mission: Impossible 8 also includes Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Vanessa Kirby (The Crown), Hayley Atwell (Black Mirror), Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead), Ving Rhames, Katy O’Brian, Nick Offerman, Pom Klementieff, Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Holt McCallany, and Shea Whigham.

Will Rebecca Ferguson be in Mission Impossible 8?

If Rebecca Ferguson will be in Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 2, we’ll place our bets on it being a surprise plot twist. Ilsa Faust was seemingly killed by Gabriel in Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1. Ferguson expressed growing a little unsettled with the character, but then again, she did give a cheeky “you never know” response when asked if she’d be in Mission: Impossible 8

Is Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2 the last one?

No, or at least, we don’t think so. Mission: Impossible 8 is the only Mission: Impossible film currently in development. Paramount has yet to greenlight a ninth sequel. Will there be a Mission: Impossible 9? Maybe; Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie have hinted at it being a possibility.
