It’s every parent’s worst nightmare and it happened to the Latimer family.
11-year-old Danny Latimer was found murdered on the beach of Broadchurch, a small English town where everyone seemingly knows each other. But as the investigation deepens, secrets are exposed, and the case’s two detectives must contend with the media and their own contentious relationship to bring Danny’s killer to justice.
Broadchurch’s town and story may be the work of fiction, but its settings are authentically English. Here’s where you can find Broadchurch filming locations along England’s coast.

The Windy Corner Cafe
The Windy Corner Cafe on Quayside was the Broadchurch Cafe. Next door was the filming location for the Wessex Police Station.
Freshwater Holiday Park
Just east down the sands of West Bay is Freshwater Beach where Susan Wright’s caravan was parked.
Other locations in West Bay include the West Bay Discovery Center acting as Sea Brigade Hall in Season 1 and Hardy’s riverside home on the banks of the River Brit. Scenes were also filmed on the East Pier, Jurassic Pier, and West Bay Harbour.

Charmouth
London to Crewkerne: 3h 43m
8.4 miles by foot (or 20 minutes by cab) from West Bay you’ll find Charmouth. The huts on Charmouth Beach were used throughout Season 2. Also in Season 2, the Stonebarrow Hill hiking area was used for some Lee Ashworth scenes.
Walton Park Hotel
Right on Wellington Terrace, the Walton Park Hotel lent its interiors as a location for Broadchurch to film the Traders Hotel where Detective Inspector Hardy stayed in Seasons 1 and 2. The exteriors were located deeper in Clevedon at 22 Hill Road, the road that was also Broadchurch’s high street.
St. Andrew’s Church
On the south end of Clevedon, the 12th-century St. Andrew’s Church was Broadchurch’s St. Bede.
Marine Lake & Wain’s Hill
Both of these filming locations for Broadchurch are connected by Poet’s Walk and have St. Andrew’s Church as the midway point between them. The lake was used for the boat burning scene.
Marshall’s Field
The sprawling greenspace behind the Latimer’s house is Clevedon’s Marshall’s Field, which also borders the Clevedon Pill. Just like in the show, the church is within a short walk of the field.

Will there be a Broadchurch Season 4?
No, there will not be a Broadchurch Season 4. When Broadchurch Season 3 was underway, producers confirmed that the series would end with a third season. Honestly, there’s no reason for a Season 4 of Broadchurch, and Season 3 was slightly overstaying its welcome by starting a new case. Broadchurch Season 1 is a great whodunnit and Season 2 is a rare successful continuation that offers up an emotionally moving plot without muddling up the initial story.
