Silverstone Circuit is 90 minutes north of London by car, but you’re taking the train — so you’ll shave at least 30 minutes off of your travel time.

Arrive at Silverstone for the F1 British Grand Prix whenever you wish: maybe you want time to enjoy the LEGO Family Zone with the little ones or are waiting until Kings of Leon hits the stage. Whatever you do, plan to arrive at Silverstone at least an hour before the event or race you’re trying to catch.
Just for reference, the car parks open a half hour before the circuit gate; so even though you’re coming by train, expect a crowd from both rail and road.
