The Formula 1 Qatar Airways British Grand Prix takes place between July 4, 2024 and July 7, 2024, at Silverstone Circuit in Towcester, Northamptonshire, England. Silverstone Circuit is 90 minutes north of London by car, but you’re taking the train — so you’ll shave at least 30 minutes off of your travel time.

Great news, rail riders! You can get from London to Silverstone by train via three different arrival stations: Banbury, Milton Keynes, and Northampton. 

London Euston has a shorter travel time and more options for travel, though London Marylebone rivals a few of its route times. Silverstone offers free shuttle buses between the arrival train stations and the racetrack, so you really can’t go wrong with your choice of station.

What time should I arrive at Silverstone for F1?

Arrive at Silverstone for the F1 British Grand Prix whenever you wish: maybe you want time to enjoy the LEGO Family Zone with the little ones or are waiting until Kings of Leon hits the stage. Whatever you do, plan to arrive at Silverstone at least an hour before the event or race you’re trying to catch. 

Just for reference, the car parks open a half hour before the circuit gate; so even though you’re coming by train, expect a crowd from both rail and road.

In 2024, the cheapest F1 race to attend is the China Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit. In Europe, the cheapest F1 races to attend are the Hungary Grand Prix and Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The F1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone is significantly cheaper than the Monaco Grand Prix, but it’s still the fifth most expensive F1 race to attend globally in 2024.

What is the dress code for the Silverstone F1?

The dress code for the Silverstone F1 is relatively similar across the general seats and the hospitality areas. Comfortable clothing is recommended, but not too comfortable. Flat shoes with flexible soles are better than flip flops. Breathable clothing is important because of the open circuit’s design, as are layers. When in the hospitality area, dress smart casual.
