Kicking off our cultural to-do list is the Seville Cathedral — a jaw-dropping Gothic masterpiece that’s home to Christopher Columbus’s tomb. Climb the Giralda Tower for panoramic views that’ll make your Instagram followers green with envy.

Don’t forget to explore its cavernous interior — it’s like Hogwarts, but with more priests than wizards (though who knows, maybe they’ve got a few tricks up their sleeves!).

This stunning palace is a blend of Renaissance and Mudéjar architecture, filled with intricate tilework, beautiful gardens, and fascinating sculptures. Wander through its lush courtyards, admire the collection of Roman statues, and soak in the historical charm that dates back to the 15th century. The palace has also served as a film location for many famous movies, adding a touch of Hollywood glamor to your visit. Don’t miss the impressive staircase adorned with stunning tiles and wrought-iron railings.

4. Wander through Santa Cruz District & historical center

This area is a labyrinth of narrow, winding streets that lead you to hidden plazas and centuries-old buildings. It’s the perfect spot to pretend you’re in a Spanish telenovela. Bonus points if you stumble upon a secret tapas bar.

5. Discover the hidden gems in the Old Jewish Quarter

Dive into the rich history of Seville by exploring the Old Jewish Quarter, part of the enchanting Santa Cruz district. Here are a few spots you won’t want to miss:

  • Callejón del Agua: Wander down this charming alleyway along the old city walls. It’s a peaceful spot with greenery and historic buildings, perfect for a quiet escape.
  • Plaza de Doña Elvira: Relax in this beautiful square filled with orange trees, fountains, and classic Sevillian tile work. It’s an ideal place to soak in the local vibe.
  • Casa de Murillo: Check out the former home of famous painter Bartolomé Esteban Murillo. Now a cultural center and museum, it gives you a peek into the artist’s life and work.

6. Get regal at the Royal Alcazar

Feel like royalty for a day at the Royal Alcazar. This palace is straight out of a fairy tale, with lush gardens, intricate tile work, and an atmosphere that screams “fancy.” It’s also a Game of Thrones filming location, so channel your inner Khaleesi.

7. Explore Seville’s vibrant markets

Mercado de Triana

If you wish to try local food or simply have a more local experience, you cannot miss this hidden gem. This market hall has many different stands with fresh and delicious food for you to buy or try. Inside Mercado Triana you’ll additionally find small but great bars and restaurants, like El Puesto 22 and Pescadería Loli, to try delicious and fresh food you won’t forget. The market could be easy to miss, so make sure to give it a visit. It is located right at the end of Puente de Triana.

Mercado Lonja del Barranco

Although temporarily closed, this market — a highlight in Seville’s gastronomic scene — offers a modern take on traditional tapas and other regional specialties. There are over 20 stands selling all kinds of goods, from top Andalusian cheeses and fine Iberico hams to refreshing ice cream and fantastic Spanish wine. It is located inside a World Heritage Historical Site (a former famed fish market) next to the famous Puente de Triana. As it is located close to the river you can do a little after-lunch promenade.

8. Visit the Torre de Oro

The Torre de Oro (Tower of Gold) might not be made of gold, but it’s still pretty impressive. Climb to the top for stunning views of the Guadalquivir River. It’s a great spot to play tourist and snap some epic pics.

9. Stroll around Plaza de España

The Plaza de España is so picturesque it’s almost ridiculous. This massive semi-circular plaza features a canal (yes, a canal), beautiful bridges, and enough tiled alcoves to keep your camera busy for hours. It’s like if Venice and Seville had a really photogenic baby.

10. Savor history at El Rinconcillo

This is Seville’s oldest bar. It has been open since 1670 and is one of the most authentic bars in this Andalusian city. When you enter El Rinconcillo, you get the sense that nothing has changed for decades. Just go there and try as many tapas dishes as you can. We recommend staying downstairs at the bar and not booking a table in the restaurant upstairs, as the atmosphere is more authentic and lively on the ground level. Make sure not to miss the jamon!

11. Experience the Metropol Parasol (Mushrooms of Seville)

For a modern twist, check out the Metropol Parasol, affectionately known as the Mushrooms of Seville. This funky wooden structure offers epic views from its rooftop walkway. It’s part art installation, part playground, and 100% cool.

13. Time travel at Italica

Hop on a bus and head to Italica, an ancient Roman city just outside Seville. Explore the ruins of amphitheaters, baths, and houses that are over 2,000 years old. You can practically hear the echoes of gladiator battles — or maybe that’s just your stomach growling for more tapas.

14. Dive into Acuario de Sevilla (the Aquarium)

If you’re into marine life (or just need to escape the heat), the Acuario de Sevilla is a must-visit. It’s got everything from colorful fish to fearsome sharks. Plus, it’s a great spot for kids or anyone who’s secretly a kid at heart. The aquarium has over 7,000 sea creatures and features a journey that mimics Magellan’s voyage around the world. It’s like a world tour, but with more fish and fewer layovers.
